U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's Meeting with FATA/NWFP Representatives

Islamabad - During her three-day visit to Pakistan, the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with the representatives of FATA and NWFP, at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by men and women leaders, hailing from FATA and NWFP, who discussed various issues with the Secretary of State.  During the discussion, participants requested U.S. assistance with IDPs, concrete measures for the development of women and children, representation of tribal women in Parliament and deployment of more U.S. troops on Pak-Afghan border.

The Secretary of State underscored American support and partnership with the Pakistani people in this regard. She also conveyed U.S. condolences for the victims of recent terror attack in Peshawar and expressed strong support for the sacrifices being made by Pakistan's army in its current engagement against extremists.
