The superintendent of the police reports that the MMA has planned a rally for Sunday August 20, 2006, at 1400 hours at Jinnah Park in front of Balahisar Fort. The rally will protest the Musharraf government and the situation in the Middle East. Police sources expect 20,000 people to attend the rally. Traffic in the area is expected to be chaotic. The Consulate recommends that all American citizens avoid the area of Balahisar Fort and GT Road from 1000 hours to 2100 hours on Sunday August 20, 2006.
